Meeting 11

This class was basic about the Web designing.And also the simple  HTML tags are taken by A.Selvakumar Third IT.This class was superb for the newbies of web designing.Then we discussed and concluded that  teaching is not the only way to learn.So we desired to give a demo on how we work with www.w3schools.com next class.

Meeting 10

This class was taken by BALACHANDAR (FINAL YEAR IT) and it was something special about animation & graphics (i.e.,) GIMP, which is also like the PHOTOSHOP in windows OS. GIMP is a OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE developed by Spencer Kimball ,Peter Mattis . GIMP is nothing but “GNU IMAGE MANIPULATION PROGRAM”. Balachandar tells about the working of GIMP. The works of various tools are also discussed. The pictures are modified by using GIMP software and it was seen by all members. Moreover, it is proud to say that all the students learned the GIMP. At last, the class was ended with a slogan.

Workshop on Lamp

Hi Friends,
I m glad to announce that we are going to conduct a two day workshop on
LAMP ( Linux,Apache,Mysql,Python ) at 22.8.2009 and 23.8.2009.

Here is the workshop summary,
DAY 1
1)MySQL, Introduction
2)Apache httpd, The universal web server
3)PHP, core scripting language
4)php – mySQL, the soup of web development
DAY 2
1)here we learn about Python
2)In the second part of the day we learn about object oriented python
3)Networking
BRUSH UP:( You need to study on these topics before the workshop )
HTML,CSS,SQL(dml,ddl,dcl),oops,Basic webtechnology – Have a go through on www.w3schools.com )

Meeting 9

This meeting was about the power of open source in animation field and how to assemble the computer peripherals. Most of the members of KLOSC did not aware of the meeting place as it was changed on the last minute due to some special classes for lateral entry students. But, the seniors didn’t cancel the meeting. They took the class as-usual. Fifteen members were participated in this meeting.

First –of-all the animation movies ( Elephant’s Dream and Big Buck Bunny ) was shown to all the students. The animations were awesome and overplayed the work done by Maya and 3D’s max. All the members were so excited, when they saw that animation movie. Now all students were felt the power of open source in multimedia .Then Diwakar of 2^nd year ,took the seminar on CPU parts in the computer. He taught by means of visualization. It was very easy to understand and we really enjoyed it. At the end of the session 3 final year peoples ( Aarthi,Jayalakshmi and Kavitha.A) joined with us and we gave a summary about the session to them.

The meeting spiritly ended with our slogan “I Can I Will”

KLUG ( The name is KLOsC ,Yet it is KLUG )

Hi Friends,

Here I m going to introduce our traditional Linux discussion group which is called as KLUG.

KLUG = KEC Linux User Group

It was created and cherished by our past seniors.It is one of the most popular linux groups ,In KLUG our  seniors are really willing to help  the newbies(juniors) to use GNU/Linux.

Now this year the group is doing very well .We cant get the KLUG name in wordpress,So we made KLOsC to update our activities…

Meeting 8

This class was very interesting and taken about the hardware parts (i.e,) HARD DISC which is the storage medium of a computer system and about some LINUX commands. Dhiwakar tells that how the hard disc was working ,what are all the essential parts inside in it ,how it can store data & much more things. Balachandar takes Linux commands ,which is very useful to all the KLOSC members to work well with LINUX . Today’s meeting is very interesting and gave more information.
